If the Gulf of Mexico waters are calling you, Sanibel beaches are very friendly, gradually sloping to swimming depth. Sanibel's gentle waters also encourage flats-fishing and deep-water fishing, power boating and sailing. Canoe afficionados and kayakers, snorkelers, scuba divers, skim-boarding and windsurfing fans will find lots of places to play along the shores of Sanibel.
Various harbor areas and canals are visited frequently by manatees. Bottlenose dolphins frequently play in Sanibel's Gulf and Bay waters. Ask us about cruises to the dolphins' playgrounds.
For some, the ideal outdoor activity is a twilight stroll on the Sanibel beach, bathed in the gold and vermilion shades of the setting sun.
Of course, for golfers there is only one activity that matters. Sanibel has three 18-hole golf courses. Two golf courses are located mid-island.One situated on the west end of the island. Serous golfers will also be happy to know there are numerous championship golf courses just a few minutes off-island.
For the "born to shop" crowd or the souvenir seekers, the Sanibel Island is dotted with quaint shopping plazas and stand alone establishments. You'll find plenty to outfit every member of the family and art, collectibles, antiques, arts, beach gear, fishing gear, island wear, crafts, jewelry, sea shells and much more!
While a family vacation at Sanibel Arms West allows for many opportunities for family members to sit and dine as a family in their spacious suite, restaurant dining is a pleasant pastime on island. Sanibel is home to some of the most respected restaurants and lounges in Southwest Florida. Whether you prefer fine dining, casual dining or a little of both, the choices are extensive. Sanibel Arms West staff will be happy to suggest a few of their favorites.
